What is the Green Event Center?
Green Acres Event Center, an exquisite event center in a Historic Barn, offers the utmost in rustic elegance, distinctiveness, and charm, and is the ideal location for creating beautiful and lasting memories in a lovely, old-world environment. Eden Prairie is conveniently located approximately 15 minutes southwest of Minneapolis. Their indoor and outdoor event space is ideal for weddings, parties, business events, and other large gatherings in the Twin Cities area.
Green Acres Event Center, formerly known as the Goodrich-Ramus barn, is Eden Prairie’s oldest standing barn and an important piece of Minnesota history. Hennepin County proposed removing the barn in 2009 as part of its plans to extend Pioneer Trail, but the City of Eden Prairie and the Historical Society intervened to save it. After reading about its collapse in the Star Tribune, Steven Schussler, the founder of the Rainforest cafe brand of restaurants, decided to buy it and restore it.
Why you should book the center?
There are three stunning entertainment venues with crystal and candlelight chandeliers, a collection of vintage jukeboxes, an elaborate Italian water fountain, old-fashioned player pianos, music, and dramatic lighting for you to create your most unforgettable event. Comfortable seating spaces with old horse saddles, kerosene lanterns, antique furniture, artwork, and so much more make your guests feel at ease, invoking cherished memories of the past.
Green Acres, which is adjacent to Staring Lake Park and features lush trees, paths, and animals, makes for a lovely and stunning setting for excellent photographs. Under the shade of trees, you may have your fantasy outdoor wedding ceremony. The custom-built wood-burning brick fireplace is lighted for your event at no additional cost, encouraging your guests to relax on the rustic rockers and benches while enjoying the crackling fire. Vintage pavers, John Deere tractors, a horse-drawn carriage, and a custom-built hayride with cow seats add to the wacky enjoyment. S’mores may be made by roasting marshmallows over the open fire pit at the Cowboy Cauldron. The barn comes alive in the evening with external dramatic lighting that comes in several color combinations.
Corporate events, weddings, birthday parties and other social gatherings, friends’ reunions or family gatherings, and charity events are all possible here.
Additional Services
Green Acresevent center a well-lit parking area on-site that can accommodate up to 60 cars. A valet and/or shuttle service will be required at the client’s expense for events with more than 60 vehicles and/or 120 attendees. At Elliot Aviation and Hummingbird Aviation, overflow parking is accessible through valet or shuttle service. Please be aware that no overnight parking is permitted, and offenders will be towed at the expense of the car owner. For your convenience, a recommended vendor list is provided.
